Where does shea come from ?

Shea are grown in West Africa, especially Ghana and in particular in poor rural areas of northern Ghana. Shea nuts are harvested and processed exclusively by women who often form women’s groups and cooperatives in their villages. D’où vient le karité ? Les noix de karité sont produites par l’arbre qui porte son nom en Afrique de l’ouest. Dans le nord du Ghana, où subsiste une grande pauvreté, les noix de karité sont récoltées et transformées  exclusivement par des femmes, le plus souvent sous forme de coopératives de villages.
